An early start was worth it as Swanage greeted us bathed in sunshine.

A wonderful walk through Townsend nature reserve to Durlston Castle via the lighthouse and Tilly Whim caves.

Obviously the Dorset apple cake and coffee was a given. Then along the Victorian walk and down into Swanage to join the pirate festival with a few stops on the art trail too.

Back to the car and on to Studland bay to eat our packed tea on the beach.

A great fix of vitamin D along the way!

It was so important to make sure the socks and shoes were suitable and there was zinc oxide tape to protect any area on the feet that might be vulnerable to rubbing and blisters!
